Marina Bay Sands is surely built fro two purposes: To bid for being the defining landmark of Singapore and to make gazillions of money. I think it is an amazing complex of hotel, shopping mall and casino that delivers exactly that. Therefore it is one of the most memorable places to visit in Singapore.
You trip to the gem of Asia would not be complete without a view of Singapore from the observation deck of Marina Bay Sands. If you can afford to stay in the hotel, you can also enjoy the infinity pool, arguably the best of its kind in the world.
If you have spare dollars to forget about, Casino is your destination. I am warning you that it is not a fancy vegas casino where you can entertain yourself even without playing & losing. It means serious business and you are most likely to leave few hundreds (or thousands) of dollars here. So gamble at your own risk & fun :)
The shopping centre that connects it all (even to the metro ‘MRT’ station) is home to many world class brands as well ‘famous’ restaurants. There is sufficient variety of dining & shopping options for every type of tourist. For dinner, you can have a can of iced green tea and snickers from the 7Eleven or spend a small country’s budget on a three course steak mean at ‘Cut’ by Wolfgang Puck. One does not need to be a member of the ‘world elite’ to enjoy this complex but being one surely would not hurt either :)
